It was a lovely autumn day with the foliage in full color when we met in the Carriage House at Eagle Mountain House in Jackson, NH, for another fabulous Lunch and Learn program. We had 44 members and guests in attendance. There was a brief business meeting followed by a short break and then reconvened for a wonderful lunch and the much anticipated educational program.

The garden can be a magical place - even in winter! Stripped of summer foliage and flowers, the success of a winter garden lies in its structure, basic design and choice of plant material. This richly illustrated lecture provided inspiration and tips on designing your garden for winter interest, choosing the best trees, shrubs and perennials, and grouping them to create arresting vignettes. Jana Milbocker is an avid gardener, plant collector, garden designer and writer. She has presented programs at the Boston, Connecticut and Maine Flower Shows, Tower Hill Botanic Garden, Massachusetts Horticultural Society, and many garden clubs. Jana is a garden designer, owner of Enchanted Gardens Landscape Design and author of two garden travel guides which was available for sale after the lecture.
