June 2021 - Mountain Garden Club Annual End of Fiscal Year Luncheon
Wentworth Hotel Tent

It was a beautiful, albeit hot, June day when 70 of our club members finally got to celebrate the end of a crazy Covid year with a wonderful luncheon event at the Wentworth in Jackson. We were honored to have NHFGC President, Sue Miner, join us for the day. President, Laurie McAleer, opened the luncheon meeting by reading a very moving article which reminded us all of how precious every day and every moment is. Afterwards, President Sue Miner, presented the awards that the club received this year to President, Laurie, (who was very surprised) which were:

National Garden Clubs: 1st place Yearbook, Publications for Membership Brochure & Business Card, Website

NH Federation of Garden Clubs: 1st place Yearbook / Club Recognition for VBS sites & StoryLand Planting / Silver Seal Certificate - Cheryl Pizor / NHFGC Life Member - Elise Edgerton

The club was also honored to receive an award from Tin Mountain Conservation Ctr for Volunteer of the Year.

Long time member, Joanne Fryer, surprised the club with a very generous donation of $500 to the Scholarship Fund in honor of her mother who inspired her love of gardening: Ann Sarbanis Thanos. Joanneā€™s donation is extremely important to our scholarship program, and we want to express our appreciation and thanks for her thoughtfulness. Her gift will help us to make student dreams come true.

President Laurie then introduced the entire Board, thanked everyone for the participation and hard work and presented everyone with a Rose.

We finished out the day with a fabulous lunch by the Wentworth Hotel and everyone had a wonderful time. We plan to be at Wentworth for our 2022 luncheon next year.
